A pioneer in organic products, Bonabio handles the existing sourcing for organic supply chains at the Rungis market, particularly tropical fruits and derivatives from the Rungis ripening facility (bananas, avocados, mangoes, turmeric, ginger, coconut, passion fruit, papayas), imported organic oils and oil blends (coconut, palm, shea, margarines), and seeds and derivatives (sesame bars, purees, starches, syrups). Historically part of Drôme-based Jules Brochenin, Bonabio, which has been independent since 2018, is being transferred to the family group Propolis Développement, following the retirement of its director, Diego Garcia. It is in this context that the family group Propolis Développement, led by the Henriot family, is acquiring this Rungis-based specialist in tropical fruits and ingredients exclusively from organic farming, after having acquired Bio Cash Distribution in April 2021, a wholesaler specializing in organic fruits and vegetables, fresh produce, and grocery items based in Vendargues near Montpellier. The new entity, comprising Dynamis, Bio Cash Distribution, and Bonabio, generates a turnover of approximately €80 million.
